In conjunction with California State fire officials, CRP is actively reducing fuel loads on an area South East of the town of Colfax between that town and the North Fork of the American River Canyon.  This is a volunteer activity consisting of tree thinning, bush cutting, lower branch pruning, log chipping, prescribed area burns, pile burning, and other activities in order to create shaded fuel breaks and other wildfire mitigation zones.
